Polar Flow

For the past week I've been gathering as much information as I can about Eat To Preform (ETP).  Most of the coaches and members talk about their use of the FitBit.  I used a FitBit for over a year and had tons of issues keeping a charge.  I went through two, and my husband went through one in less than a year.  I gave up on a fitness tracker for almost two years, and discovered I need something to track to my movement during the day.

This past Christmas my present to myself was a Polar A360 Watch/Fitness tracker, and I love it.  It has a built in wrist heart rate monitor, and the watch is interactive.  You can check your activity, sleep, and heart rate.  It also lets you pick your type of workout.  When I do crossfit I usually just monitor my workout as group fitness, but you can track your walks, strength workouts, cycling, running, etc.  You sync watch with the Polar Flow app.  It also syncs with My Fitness Pal (MFP).

You can find out more information about the watch here!  My watch band is white, but like the FitBit it comes in different colors!

Below are a couple of pictures I took with my iPhone...they are not great...

You do you...

I have went back an forth with blogging.  I'm primarily doing this blog to log my crossfit workouts in conjunction with my Eat To Preform (ETP) plan.  I need to lose about 10 lbs, but like everyone that last 10 is tough (and I like beer way too much)!

Just a few things about me...

  • I'm on the sleigh ride to 40 (thanks Joy from GGW for that analogy).
  • I work full-time at Old Dominion University, and I'm a part-time doctoral student (my workouts are around my school schedule, so I'm limited).
  • My husband is awesome.  We have a new adopted dog Shilo, and my 13 y/o STaugter lives with us (lord help me Jesus).  The 13 y/o is where "you do you" came from.  She's 13 and doesn't always make the best decisions...so I tell her, you do you.  She also crossfits with me.
  • I love going to college baseball games!
  • I've been crossfitting a little over a year at Crossfit Norfolk.  I love my gym.  It has provided me with an awesome place to workout and push myself.  It has also provided me with a great group of friends.

So, I have been doing ETP for a week now.  My first week was completely by the seat of my pants.  I did have food for proper meal planning, so I focused on logging my food.  Even though it's only been a week my favorite thing about ETP is the flexible eating (and playing food tetris).  I am officially addicted to My Fitness Pal (MPF)  This week I feel a little more comfortable about what I am doing.  I still have a hard time hitting my protein macros which I thought would be a piece of cake.  I was wrong...way wrong!  Although, I can hit my fats...all day erry-day!
